City of the Future

The city of the future for me would be filled with resources for people struggling. I would like to say that the new era of the digital world should have opened the doors for so many agencies to be able to help people and especially people from a distance since they can Video call and use the online portals to connect and communicate. I feel that the system is just broken. My children see all these people on YouTube wasting money on nonsense to make silly videos that get all the likes and subscriptions needed to make even more money and then they ask me why do they live in such a big beautiful home and how do they have the ability to buy every single X and do a skit on it online when we can’t even find affordable housing. Or housing at all for that matter. As a child your always going to be envious of others and want what they have or get what they have but it’s so unrealistic and upsetting. I even watch these things and often wonder how do we as a family relate to what they are doing or how they are living? We don’t! Just simple, we just don’t. I don’t even know why they watch it because we can’t possibly relate to having expendable money to throw away and we certainly are not ever going to get into a home slightly as nice as their let alone drive cars trucks vans or ride in planes and jets like they do. I tell my kids that they make money by spending money and they ask where did they get the money to spend to make it? I really don’t have a good answer for them other than they started off small and insignificant like we are and they worked their way to where they are today. Obviously my kids are young and they believe they can randomly throw a video on YouTube and they will get likes and shares and make a bunch of money and they are just young and don’t fully understand. With all of that being said, I’m sure my vision of the future relates a lot to my current existence and inability to find a home and resources for my family. Maybe one day we will not be in Such a bad spot and I can revisit this question but right now my vision is just having resources and those resources not taking so much time to go through and the LISTS your placed on not taking an eternity to get moved from one list onto the IN HOUSE WAIT LIST! It’s incredibly frustrating that families have to suffer so much in this Great Country because they/we should NOT have to suffer so tremendously and WAIT so long to get any relief or help. The damage it causes to your psyche and the damages it causes to you kids psyche is so overwhelming that it’s hard to think we shall eventually overcome this all. It’s just a shame that the American Dream is just not even a reality anymore or at least not a close reality for me or for a lot of families and we/they may never enjoy that American Dream of owning your OWN home and small piece of land that you can call your very own. It’s just an awful feeling realizing that is not going to happen for my family or the family of others. Just an actual shame. Then to go into any gas station or convenience stores or donut shops or many other businesses and see that so many people aren’t even born into having the American Dream but yet they have it the day they arrive here. Why can’t those whom live here and are born here have that opportunity too. We don’t because we don’t get the grants and tax breaks and incentives that those whom are considered aliens to the great USA get. I’m sorry I’m just so upset that my kids and I have to suffer so intensely for so many months and nothing is improving as each time I start to lift my head something worse breaks or goes wrong. It’s just a traumatic experience. With that being said I hope someone else’s view of the future world is beautiful and inspiring and I’m sorry mine is not. I’m just having such a difficult time and my kids are suffering because of this broken system and it’s hurtful. Hope everyone has a better day than my days have been.
